Eric Hill is a entertainment technician from Raleigh, North Carolina who has worked in lighting since 2014. He is currently set to receive his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Lighting Design and Technology from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2022. Live entertainment has always been something Eric enjoys due to the unique problem solving it requires. After graduation, Eric is planning on starting a career with touring productions.

Photona Beyond (Moving Light Show)- Technical Director / EOS Programmer                           December 2021

 Created rigging diagrams in conjunction with the electrics team • Calculated weight loads per beam to ensure safe planning and implementation of rigging plans • Worked as a team to create a single light plot with multiple fixture types • Programmed on EOS Ti with SIMPTE timecode playback • Crew lead for load in and out process • Worked with the designer to program complex cues, effects, subs, and presets to playback with timecode • Over 630 timecode events with 198 cues

Heathers: The Musical (Rock Musical)- Production Electrician                                                  November 2021

 Responsible for power and control layouts as well as managed shop prep, load-in, tech, performance, and load out process in a 358 seat thrust theatre • Plot included 497 fixtures with 5,139 outputs • Ethernet backbone with hard line dmx and sANC control • Planned out motor rigging with assistant TD after not being able to use linesets • Helped planning of 9 major set electrics • Swapped all overstage positions to be on truss and motors including broadway style swingwing truss prepped in shop to be rolled in and flown with 24 hour notice • Created atmospheric tracking to help budget out Co2 usage • Managed a crew of 8 staff electricians and up to 15 for load in daily calls

  Responsible for power and control layouts as well as managed shop prep, load-in, tech, filming, and load out process • Plot included about 150 fixtures • Ethernet backbone with hard line dmx • Fixtures include: Conventionals and Chroma-Q Color Force 72 • Managed a crew of 5 for daily crew calls while navigating COVID-19 protocols

  Created 3d fixture drawings to be used a temporary hang cards while awaiting on rental package • Acted as crew lead for load in, tech, performance, and load out process • Responsible for keeping the lighting designers artistic integrity during the shows run as well as calling followspot cues • Created new followpsot cue paperwork based off of dance tracking • Created excel file with pixel map of pods and pixels on the automated growing tree • Helped publish electrics shop order to be distributed to begin rental bids
